Baby Update

Officially one week from today we get to meet our new little one. I can't wait, but then just today it hit me that Evan is pretty easy right now. I do have a little anxiety about how he will adjust, but his sweetness has really come out the last month. He loves the "idea" of baby, so we'll see how that translates to baby being here.

Today baby's heart rate was 140 and head and hand were down. Unless baby feels like coming early we will go to the hospital early October 7 to meet our new addition.  We have come to a consensus on names and we can't wait to share:)

Also the poll is officially closed and the girls have it 30-18. We'll see if you guys are right very soon.

Evan loves to point out Daddy's work - the tall building. It is on the news all the time and in any skyline shot we see. Daddy's work, Daddy's work!

A day on the farm and baby countdown

We took Evan to Howell's Pumpkin Patch with Papa Dave and Gramma Lois on Saturday. He loved feeding the goats and even rode on the horse ALL BY HIMSELF! He let the guy take him, put him on the horse and walk wit him. Big deal for Evan.

This is Evan's best face. Ahh, what am I doing?!

He kept telling us he rode the brown horse.

Probably the last family picture of a family of 3.

We also made a baby countdown chain for Evan to show him how many days until baby comes to our house. He helped color and put stickers on the paper for a long time in Evan's world - which was almost a half hour. He isn't a big fan of craft time, he would rather play ball.

Evan will often say good morning baby. Come to my house baby. Hi Baby. Lots of cute things, I only hope it lasts when baby actually gets here. Officially 11 days to go!

Evan went to the Waukee Homecoming parade with Papa Steve and Gramma Kate and all the neighbors too.

Baby Girl vs. Baby Boy

I don’t really believe in any of these superstitions, but I got this from a friend's blog and thought I would give it a try.

Cravings: GIRL
I’ve been craving sweets rather than salty snacks.

Dreams: EITHER
I have had boy and girl dreams. A lot of them are based on the fact that we didn't have names picked out and we were staring at our baby with no name.

Morning sickness severity: GIRL
I had terrible morning sickness with Evan - just plain awful. This time around it was only early in the evening and only lasted a little bit.

Placenta position: EITHER
Apparently left side means it’s a girl, right side boy. I don't have a clue except baby right now loves my right side.

Mathematical formula: BOY
This doesn’t even make sense, but apparently if you add your age (3 + 1) to your due date month (10) to your conception month (1) and it’s even, you’re having a girl. An odd number means boy. (15)
Chinese Gender Predictor: BOY

Heart rate: GIRL

The myth is that a heart rate over 140 bpm indicates a girl, however lately they have been below. So I went with heart rates early on because now baby is getting smashed and can't move around as much.
High or low: BOY (but could be a toss up)
My bump is high according to EVERYONE who comments:) But I feel it very low. All the comments from people have been a basketball which is very similar to how I carried Evan.
Ring test: GIRL
You tie a wedding ring to a string of floss and dangle it over the bump (I was sitting in my chair at work). After a few seconds it will either start to swing in a straight line (boy) or a circle (girl). The ring went nuts in a circle three times almost immediately.

Mayan table: GIRL

Age of the mother when she got pregnant (3+0) her month of birth (6) + month of conception (1) = result is odd it is a boy if it is even it is a girl. (10)

So that’s 5 girl to 3 boy and 2 toss ups.

We have to just wait two more weeks until we find out.
Gut feeling: AMY - BOY  vs. NICK - GIRL
I think boy only because that is all I know. :)

Hope you enjoyed the fun!

Big Boy Beds Make Me Tired.

Evan is officially moved into his new room and big boy bed. No issues going to sleep, but when he wakes up in the middle of the night it is hard for him to go back to sleep - 4:30 is not acceptable for a wake up time.
I guess we should get used soon.

I had a doctor appointment today - only 23 days to go! Baby's heart rate was 125 - a lot lower than Evan ever was, but completely normal. Baby is doing great, mom struggling, but not much time left.

36 weeks and counting

Here is a picture of me at 36 weeks. Exactly one month to go from today.

With Evan at 36 weeks.

We bought some newborn diapers (just in case) and I need to start going through 0-3 month clothes so we have something for this little one to wear. I bought two come home/picture outfits - onesies that say "Lil Sis" and "Lil Bro".

Evan has been doing great on the potty lately. Grandma Kate bought him Mickey Mouse big boy undies that he likes to wear over his diaper and pull-ups. Whatever works!
