So...so...tired...

A post by Wyatt...

I will not nap. I am holding on...
Nope won't do it...even if I only have 1 finger holding on.
Wait, my eyes aren't shut...maybe a little...
Ok I will nap, but I am not going to lay down.

This is how, this is how, this is how I nap.

Tough Being a Boy

If there are grammatical errors in this blog session, please excuse me as I’m still cringing with empathy after Evan’s latest experience. Evan has been potty trained for about a year now and has recently developed the habit of locking the door while doing his business. As we got ready for bed the other night, he locked himself in the bathroom as he went potty. From our bedroom, I could distinctly hear his favorite bathroom ritual proceeding as usual, which of course, is letting the toilet seat drop as loud as possible!

Well, all you men reading the blog are now cringing as Evan managed to slam the toilet seat on his umm, unmentionables! Amy and I quickly ran to the bathroom door, which of course was locked. Usually leaving the door locked is Evan’s favorite game but given the situation he gladly unlocked the door so we could come to his aid. After the screaming and shaking was done (from Evan and Mom) I went in for the inspection. Lo and behold our unmentionables were now a nasty shade of black and blue.

Thankfully only Evan’s ego was bruised so the story is now worthy of a little comedy. After Evan calmed down, he wanted to strip down and utilize an ice pack to make him feel better. We used the ice pack before bed and then again when we woke up the next morning, even stripping down again after he had dressed himself the next morning. 3.5 years ago, I never envisioned a bottomless child on our recliner with his feet in the air, icing his goods!

Dasher

Wyatt the Riot was picked (submitted) to race in the Diaper Dash at the Iowa State Fair yesterday. We thought for sure he would put up a fight...maybe next year.

Wyatt was more interested in his friend Piper. Evan loved cheering him on too. here is a link to the video. http://www.kcci.com/news/central-iowa/Babies-race-in-Diaper-Dash/-/9357080/16159926/-/a9qd7u/-/index.html

Also here are some photos from our lovely Ann from school capturing Wyatt's day.

What?!

Concentrating hard on painting.

I can't quite see...

Hmmm...I think I like this.

Some day I will be big enough to play out there.

10 months old

Our little Wyatt is 10 months old and growing by the day. He is eating pretty much anything and loving it, just no to the biggies (milk, honey, eggs, etc.)

He is walking behind everything, even standing alone for a couple of seconds. He is getting some teeth and it isn't fun at night...at all.

Here is Elephante and Wyatt

I am over this

See ya later

Good catch dad!

Happy little boy swinging.

Grandpa and Grandma Varcoe came to visit and Evan got to ride in a real Stagecoach!

And he got a Packer helmet!! Thanks G and G!

We are living up what is left of summer...and wearing out some very busy boys.

We all attended Brecken's baptism on Sunday and the boys did pretty well considering 2 hours of church and no naps until late:)

Family Wedding and Fun

We headed up to Wisconsin for my cousin Paul's wedding. We got to spend some quality time with our family on both sides. We hung out at Hilson's farm Friday night and 4 of the 5 great-grandsons were able to play outside together.

Rarely do we get to see all our family when we go up, so we were very fortunate to be able to see everyone.
