We took him to the Adel Sweetcorn festival - let's just say, tractors, fire trucks and trucks were the highlight of his life!
I took a day off from work to enjoy some time with Evan while the weather is still nice. We went to the zoo with Megan and Drake. Drake and Evan cracked each other up on the ride there and Drake was a good helper showing Evan all his favorite animals.
They are looking at the lions, or trying as their moms want their attention for a picture.
Mom the wallabys, do you see them?!
Wow, those giraffes are big. Come here big guy!
Evan and Drake in their rides.
His favorite thing to do is to see how many things he can put in the back of the truck. He stacks things pretty high. Yes there is a tractor, car, wagon and I am not sure what all else in the back. He doesn't like when they topple over, but we are working on trying again.
What are you doing in the bathroom mister?
The same day as the zoo we took Evan to the State Fair. The weather was perfect and he loved it! He got to be "A little helper on the farm." Planted vegetables, rode tractors, picked apples, and then delivered his goods to the farmer's market for a prize. He picked the OCP (Oatmeal Cream Pie). He hadn't eaten dinner yet, but when you are at the fair go for it. So he ate the OCP, followed up by a corn dog, root beer float, snickers on a stick, french fries and oranges (most ended up on the ground.) He was a mess, but had a great time doing it.
Getting his apron on for a hard day's work.
Telling Evan he needs to plan his tomato.
Evan putting his tomato seed on the ground.
Evan digging the hole for the tomato. He did so good!
Now he got to pick out a tomato for his basket.
Off to the next station with my vegetables.
Out little farmer all by himself.
This is his "I love this" face and laugh.
Not quite big enough to pedal on his own, but he loved the tractors.
We of course had to stop by the UNI booth. "Hey dad - Jordan is one tall beast!"And we got a UNI tattoo! Go Cats!
We also finally got Skype. We have been talking to Grandpa Steve and Grandma Kate. He is mesmerized by it. He finally got into it by waving and blowing kisses. It is a lot of fun!
Here is a video of Evan one day in the car after a funny interaction in the car with us. I just crack up listening to his laugh.
Love,
Nick, Amy and Evan
